Chaudenay-la-Ville can be explored on a varied circular route: “Entre Canal et Châteaux” begins and ends in the village, is 13.7 km long, and is classified as easy. The route passes through four villages and combines walks in the forest with a section along the Canal de Bourgogne.
Nature
The water landscape includes the Rigole de Pasquier, a feeder channel for the Chazilly reservoir. It begins near the hamlet of Pasquier and is supplied at the Ruisseau des Guets stream by a small weir and locks. Its course runs through Cussy-le-Châtel, Painblanc, Chaudenay-la-Ville, Sainte-Sabine, and Chazilly. Along the rigole are aqueducts and stone bridges.
From Chaudenay-la-Ville, there is a beautiful view of the Val du ruisseau de Préron. The view also extends as far as the Chaudenay-le-Château fortress.

Culture
The village church was built around 1870 to replace an older chapel measuring 5 metres by 10 metres. Due to a lack of financial resources, its side aisles and bell tower were never completed.
Chaudenay-la-Ville also has a recently renovated fountain with a livestock trough. The neo-Gothic Church of Saint Symphorien, dating from the 17th century, was altered in the 19th century; it stands out for its roof turret and visible side arcades.
History
The Morepaire site is considered to be a square fortified motte, approximately 40 metres on each side, surrounded by deep ditches.
Maurepaire Castle stood in the Bois des Bâtés on the right bank of the canal feeder channel; its northernmost section ran through the forest. The castle was surrounded by two ditches, which still held water in places.
Only a few piles of stones remain of the medieval Morepaire Castle.
The former Maison forte du Chauffeau (Chaffaut) stood approximately 400 metres west of Chaudenay-la-Ville. Its last remaining wall fragments lie on a hill about 100 metres south of the road to Chaudenay-le-Château, along a small dead-end lane. After the château of the Maison forte du Chauffeau (Chaffaut) had been abandoned, it was converted into an agricultural estate.
