The route is about 3 km long and has an elevation gain of 275 metres. Paths totalling around 5 km connect the Plateau de Charlannes with La Stèle and provide access to further hiking trails.

The La Bourboule area of the Espace Sancy VTT-FFC offers mountain bike circuits with varying levels of difficulty in wooded terrain.

A hike from La Bourboule leads through a green setting along the Dordogne and in the Massif du Sancy to Belle Époque architecture, the Plateau de Charlannes and a panorama overlooking the Dordogne Valley and La Bourboule.
