The hiking route “Autour des tours et châteaux” begins and ends in Bongheat and passes through Bongheat, Neuville, Trézioux and Mauzun. It is a moderately difficult, 13.6-kilometre circular route with a walking time of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes and yellow PR trail markings. Along the way, it offers views of the Château de Mauzun, with Bongheat in the foreground and the Massif du Sancy in the second landscape background on the right. Further to the right, the views extend to the Château des Salles, Billom and Clermont-Ferrand, as well as across the Limagne plain and towards the Chaîne des Puys.

The Église Saint-Julien in Bongheat consists of a Romanesque nave from the 12th century and a Gothic, pentagonal choir from the 14th century with tracery windows.
