Le Pertuis: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The choir of the Église Saint-Barthélemy stands on the site of a chapel built in the 13th century. The church contains murals and sculptures by the Polish artist Zygmunt Dobrzycki; its stained-glass windows were made by the Charles Borie workshop.

Nature

The Puy des Juscles lies between the 1,170-metre-high Mont Gros and the Suc de Juscles. Its caves provide a habitat for protected bats. An underground lake approximately 15 metres deep has formed at the foot of the Puy des Juscles. Today, 40 percent of Le Pertuis is covered by forests and woodland.

The Jaurence mountain and Mont Chanis are located in the immediate surroundings of Le Pertuis. Mount Eyme and Montivernoux are also situated in the vicinity of Le Pertuis.

Experiences

The PR631 Le Losegal circular hike begins in Le Pertuis and is a moderately difficult 6.2-kilometre hike lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The Juscles via ferrata offers two routes: an introductory route and a more demanding one. It crosses volcanic features of the Puy des Juscles, including a fissure, a rock face and a rock pillar.

Culture and History

The ruins of the Abbaye de Bellecombe are located in the surroundings of Le Pertuis. The Statue Notre-Dame-de-France monument is also situated nearby. In the wider region are the Fortresse de Polignac castle and the ruins of Ruins du château de Mézanc.
