Crouseilles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Crouseilles combines wine, history and paths through the vineyards. The Cave de Crouseilles was founded in 1950 by pioneering winegrowers. Those choosing Crouseilles as a destination can plan to rent a holiday apartment.
Wine and Discoveries
The Château de Crouseilles offers wine tastings and direct sales of a wide selection of wines all year round; direct sales are available seven days a week. Guided tours in Crouseilles include the facilities, the vineyard, the terroir, the wine cellar, and the cellars for winemaking and ageing.
An oenological escape game is also part of the Château de Crouseilles' offering. Participants search for the sacred elixir of the monks of Madiran. The Château de Crouseilles boutique also sells educational booklets for adults and children.
Culture and History
The 7 Folies de Crouseilles form an open-air artistic trail that combines poetic sculptures and nature. History is revealed at the Château de Crouseilles in several chronological layers: in 1385, it was a seigneurie with a motte, on which stood a defensive tower and stone walls.
In 1737, the new owner gave the Château de Crouseilles its present elegant manor-house appearance, with two pavilions at the ends of the main building.
Paths and Views
The “Between Vineyards and Château” footpath is signposted in Crouseilles as route no. 10. The route leads into the grounds of the Château de Crouseilles and runs along a broad avenue between the rows of vines. From there, there is a view of the Pyrenees.
The Château de Crouseilles also offers an exceptional panoramic view of the vineyards and the Pyrenean range.
