Saint-Sulpice-Et-Cameyrac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The municipality of Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac was formed in 1812 through the merger of the former municipalities of Saint-Sulpice and Cameyrac. The Church of Saint-Roch dates mainly from the 12th century; its apse has been listed as a historic monument since 1925. The bell tower of the Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Cameyrac was equipped for defensive purposes.
Culture and History
Château Lamothe was probably founded in the 14th century and rebuilt and fortified in the 16th and 17th centuries. The area around Château Lamothe has been protected as a listed site since 1981. The Palus de Saint-Loubès et d’Izon Natura 2000 site extends partially across the municipalities of Izon, Saint-Loubès, Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac and Vayres. The area consists of a plateau that slopes northwards towards the Padouen marshes without reaching the Dordogne, and reaches an elevation of 60 m on the slope of Cameyrac.
Gastronomy and Events
The restaurant at Golf de Bordeaux Cameyrac is run by chef Loïc Pesquier and his team and offers traditional cuisine from south-western France. Bordeaux-Cameyrac Golf Course offers lessons for beginners and experienced golfers through the UGOLF Academy. Concerts are held in June as part of the Fête de la Musique. Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac has been known for centuries for viticulture and Grands Crus; visitors continue to appreciate the local products.
