Saint-Quentin-De-Baron: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Quentin was built at the beginning of the 12th century. In the 14th century, it was fortified with a battlemented parapet and loopholes. The alterations made in the 16th century included a large extension on the north side, a new vaulting of the nave and a bell tower.

At the foot of the eastern fortification wall of the Château de Bisqueytan, the ruins of the medieval Bisqueytan mill are visible. The Château de Bisqueytan is listed as a historic monument. It stands on a rocky promontory of the limestone plateau above the Bisqueytan stream; sections of the 15th-century fortification walls with machicolations and a wall walk have also been preserved there.

Even older traces are part of the local landscape: the Lespaux rock shelter shows evidence of a Mousterian settlement, as do the Jaurias caves.
