Roquebrune: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Boucle locale des Châteaux is an easy 5.6 km walking route with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It passes through undergrowth and vineyards on the slopes of Roquebrune.

Nature and trails

From the Place de l’église, two walking loops lead through the countryside and offer beautiful views of the Drot Valley. The GR 654 also passes through Roquebrune, connecting the bastide of Monségur with the medieval town of La Réole.

Vineyards predominate on the slopes of Roquebrune, while the hilltops are wooded. The landscape and the trails remain closely connected with the appearance of the village.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment can consider Roquebrune as a travel destination.

Wine

Château Les Maubats produces red, white and rosé Bordeaux Supérieur wines. Tours of the estate and wine tastings are offered there.

An escape game at Château Les Maubats takes participants through the winemaking cellar and the barrel-aging cellar, where they search for ten clues.

Culture and history

The Hospitaller church of Roquebrune dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Church of Saint John the Baptist has a rectangular floor plan with a flat-ended chancel.

The commandery of Roquebrune was a hospital in the 12th century and was surrounded by ditches with a drawbridge in the 14th century. The commandery’s church is used for services, exhibitions and concerts.

Roquebrune’s preserved “quai à vendanges” was maintained and redesigned by the municipality.
