Wine and Landscape

The appellation lies mainly on a gravel terrace. The forest massif to the west protects it from sea winds. At 43 metres, Listrac-Médoc is the highest point in the Médoc. The town is located on the D1215 departmental road, which connects Bordeaux with Le Verdon-sur-Mer.

Culture and Craftsmanship

The Église Saint-Martin has a Romanesque choir dating from the 12th century. Its square bell tower was built in the 16th century and is topped by a short stone spire.

Les Grès Médocains is a family-run artisan brickworks and pottery in Listrac-Médoc. The workshop offers guided tours and pottery workshops. During the school holidays, it also offers discovery workshops that combine a guided tour of the production site with working with clay and making an object.

Trails and Events

The Sentier du Grand Riou is an easy 14-km circular route through the vineyards and forests of Listrac-Médoc. It mainly follows vineyard tracks and forest paths and presents no particular difficulties.

The Tournée des Cuviers takes place annually on the Saturday of Easter in Listrac-Médoc and is an event for walkers, hikers and runners. Several circular routes of 8 km and 17 km are used for this event, and in some years also a 21-km route. The trails pass through the vineyards and alongside the châteaux of the Listrac-Médoc AOC. During the event, the participating winegrowers open their cellars and wine presses especially for the occasion, where participants can taste Listrac wine.

Château Liouner offers tours, tastings and opportunities to discover the vineyard all year round. Various events are also added depending on the season.

The Listrac-Médoc Tourist Office offers a treasure hunt using a free geocaching app. Several caches are located in the municipality's forest.
