Culture

The south portal of the Église Saint-Christophe de Courpiac has historiated capitals depicting Samson and the lion, sirens and centaurs. Two capitals in the church at the triumphal arch depict Original Sin and the multiplication of the loaves; they date from 1130–1140. The Église Saint-Christophe was fortified in the 16th century. The choir was raised, a loophole was installed and a machicolation was added.

The former Saint-Christophe priory features sculpted ornamentation on the apse and at the southern entrance. Château Benauge, a castle, and the historic site of Abbaye de La Sauve-Majeure are also located in the vicinity of Courpiac. In the wider surrounding region are Château Ferrand and Château de Pressac, both castles, as well as Château de Malle, a park. The Pigeonnier de Capiet dovecote dates from the 18th century.

Nature

The Lacs de Laubesc are located in the municipalities of Cessac and Courpiac and comprise two ponds covering 4 and 5 hectares respectively. The site is a 22-hectare wetland and is ideal for walks and exploring a remarkable wetland landscape. An educational trail at the Lacs de Laubesc provides information about the site's sensitive wetland ecosystems.

Cycle Routes

The Boucle vélo n°20 Romagne cycle loop leads into the centre of Courpiac. The cycle route runs along the eastern edge of the municipality and allows for a circular ride through Courpiac and Cessac and to the lakes of Cessac. This route follows a former railway line that was originally used to transport natural stone from the quarries of Entre-2-Mers (Frontenac) for buildings in Bordeaux and the surrounding area, and was converted into a cycle path in the 1990s.
