Cessac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Church of Saint-Romain de Cessac stands on the foundations of a first sanctuary dating from the 12th century. Its Romanesque choir is higher than the nave. The capitals are richly decorated with biblical scenes, including Herod’s feast, the death of John the Baptist, Saint Michael fighting the dragon, Daniel in the lions’ den, and the twelve apostles. The west portal of the church was classified as a historic monument on 1 December 1908.

The Moulin de Haute Roque is a grain mill first mentioned in the 14th century. It has a neoclassical main residential building dating from the early 19th century and was associated with the Seigneurie of Laubesc. The mill is considered one of the most important mills in the Engranne Valley.
