Culture and History
The Protestant church on the Grand Rue was built in 1853. In Bischwihr, the simultaneum introduced in 1793 continued until 1853, when the present-day Protestant church was built. An inscription engraved in German on the gable of the Protestant church commemorates the consecration of the house of worship on 17 May 1853.
Bischwihr's sights include the house dating from 1755 at 55 Grand-Rue. Bischwihr is also located on the site of a former Gallic road; some milestones still mark the surrounding area.
Water and Paths
The Sentier de la foulque hike takes 1.5 hours and is 4 km long. It begins behind Bischwihr's Catholic church. On the Sentier de la foulque, visitors discover the Canal de Colmar and the landscapes of the Ried; the trail also offers insights into the local fauna and flora.
