Remains of a Gallo-Roman villa dating from between 70 and 250 AD have been preserved in Soultz-sous-Forêts. Fleckenstein Castle in Soultz-sous-Forêts was built in 1259.
Culture and history
The position of the north-eastern tower of Fleckenstein Castle is marked by a red floor plan in the new car park. The site of Le petit pont was presumably the former southern gate of Soultz; Le petit pont also forms a historic link between Fleckenstein Castle and Fleckenstein Church.
The year 1897 is inscribed on the tympanum of the Soultz-sous-Forêts synagogue. The synagogue has been partially protected as a Monument historique since 1994.
At the Ancienne maison Müntz, the façades, roofs and enclosing walls, as well as the main staircase and the corridor flooring on the ground floor inside, are protected as a Monument historique. The building was constructed between 1807 and 1815 in the Neoclassical style, possibly by the architect Weinbrenner.
Cultural programme
The Relais Culturel de La Saline offers an annual cultural programme from September to June. It includes theatre, painting, music, dance and cinema. The Relais La Saline brings Soultz-sous-Forêts to life throughout the year with film screenings, theatre performances and activities for children.
A branch of the Froeschwillerbach, the Salzbaechel, ran partly along what is now the Sentier du sel.

The Musée de la Ligne Maginot is located in the vicinity of Soultz-sous-Forêts as a museum. Mount Soultzerkopf is located in the immediate vicinity of Soultz-sous-Forêts.
Wegelnburg Castle is located in the wider regional surroundings of Soultz-sous-Forêts. The surrounding area also includes the Monument du Geisberg memorial, the historic site of Abbaye de Koenigsbrück, and the mountains Eselsberg, Muehlenkopf and Diebhalt.
