The “Ca coule de source” Heritage Trail is a 4.5-kilometre circular route with a cumulative ascent of 90 metres. It provides information about water and wetlands, uses salamanders as a thematic guide and is complemented by explanatory panels.

Hiking and viewpoints
The hike to Château du Frankenbourg begins at the Dieffenbach-au-Val festival hall. It is marked with a red triangle and takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes; approximately 1 hour is required for the return journey to Dieffenbach-au-Val.
The route through the Massif de l’Altenberg offers a panorama of the village. The ruins of Ortenbourg and Ramstein can be seen in the background. From the Rocher du Coucou viewpoint on this route, the view extends across the Val de Villé, the Val d’Argent and the Alsatian plain.
The mountains Altenberg, Schlossberg, Le Guichat and Chalmont are located in the immediate vicinity of Dieffenbach-au-Val.
Culture and surroundings
The Sentier de découvertes passes by D’Kapall. In the parish church of Saint-Laurent, the ground floor of its chancel tower is considered a possible remnant of a recluse chapel and is likely to date from the first half of the 14th century. The nave was extended westwards in 1785.
Château Frankenbourg, a castle and named geographical landmark, is located in the immediate vicinity of Dieffenbach-au-Val. The ruins of Château du Frankenbourg are also nearby.

Local life
The Buremarik is a farmers’ market in Dieffenbach-au-Val and takes place every second Sunday in October. Around 50 producers offer products from mountain agriculture there. The Buremarik includes a mushroom exhibition, changing thematic exhibitions, wooden games, wool spinning and basket weaving.
Distillerie Massenez offers free tastings to groups and individuals. Guided tours for groups are possible by prior registration.
