Brumath: Holiday apartments and houses

Brumath has a 7,000-year history. This long past is reflected in historical traces, at the Musée Archéologique de Brumath and during the Foire aux Oignons: the festival takes place every year over an entire weekend at the end of September, originated as an old livestock market and is also known as “Zewelmessti”.

Culture and history
The Musée Archéologique de Brumath is housed in the vaulted cellars of the former château of Hanau-Lichtenberg. The exhibition features architectural remains, tools, coins and local ceramics, mainly from the Gallo-Roman era. The museum offers guided tours for groups of 10 or more by prior appointment. The Musée Archéologique de Brumath is located less than 200 m from a free public car park.
The Brumath Forest is also home to tumuli dating back around 3,500 years.
Nature and trails
Brumath’s municipal forest covers 458.31 hectares. Two trails marked by the Club Vosgien run through it; the trails in Brumath’s municipal forest are open to horse riders.
The Sentier d’Ici et d’Ailleurs is a 2.7 km forest trail with playful and educational stations. The Sentier de l’Abfluss includes an interpretive trail on the subject of water and crosses the Zorn. Around 15 information panels stand along the Sentier des Artistes au Waldstressel; the stories they contain can be listened to on a smartphone using QR codes.
Water
The Plan d’eau de la Hardt is a preserved natural area with a sandy beach. It also features a water-ski lift with five pulleys.
Town and trails
The Balade ludique à Brumath leads through the town’s streets and features puzzles. A game booklet is available at the reception desk of Brumath Town Hall and at the Haguenau Tourist Office. The walking route is 4.1 km long and takes 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The Aire multi-glisse and the City stade are freely accessible to the public. Brumath railway station is in the heart of the town, while Stephansfeld station is located on Avenue de Strasbourg.
