Enø Beach is a Blue Flag beach. The area around Karrebæksminde is also known for its beautiful sandy beach. You can reach Enø Beach by bicycle, bus, the Friheden boat or car. For cyclists, the 10-kilometre bike ride from Karrebæksminde to Næstved is a good option. The route runs along Karrebæk Fjord and the canal. If you prefer to walk, you can stroll along the beach to Strandskoven and return via Vesterhavevej and Lagunestien.

A special destination is Enø Vinterbadestation. It is located at Enø By on Karrebæksminde Bay, near the Grasshopper Bridge and the harbour. There are large natural areas on the beach at the station. In the harbour by the Karrebæksminde piers, eel fishing is possible in summer, preferably in the evening and at night. Søfronten Lystbådehavn marina is located at the entrance to Karrebæksminde and offers visiting sailors, among other things, a shower, toilet and Wi-Fi.

Historic Karrebæksminde

The maritime past is also reflected in the architecture. The large warehouses in Karrebæksminde were built in 1840 and 1854. The historic townscape also includes the former seaside hotel at the end of the avenue, which was built in 1850. A striking link between the waterways and the townscape is the bridge over the canal that separates Enø from the mainland. A local artist designed the bridge in the shape of a grasshopper.

The Karrebæksminde Fisheries and Town Museum is located in Karrebæksminde’s first and oldest building. It was built between 1806 and 1809 as a materials store and residence for a supervisor. The museum preserves fishing equipment from Karrebæksminde and collects, restores and conserves this cultural heritage. For visitors looking for more than just beaches and activities, this part of the town offers a tangible insight into the history of fishing.
