Stouby between Fjord Paths and Cultural Heritage

Stouby combines proximity to Vejle Fjord with green forests, open landscapes and paths for active days. The surroundings of Stouby Beach are particularly appealing: wooded coastal slopes are part of the Natura 2000 site “Skove langs nordsiden af Vejle Fjord”, Habitat Area No. 67 and Bird Protection Area No. 45. Anyone looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home in Stouby can incorporate nature experiences, time at the beach and culture into their travel plans here.

Hiking Trails between Stouby and the Fjord

The Kløverstier in Stouby comprise four different routes. The black route is 10 km long, runs through Stouby and continues in the direction of the fjord. Another option is the green route: it takes pedestrians, roller skaters, runners and people with prams along illuminated roads and paths through Stouby. This means you can already take your preferred plans for the day into account when choosing your accommodation.

At Stouby Beach, historic spa paths now run through woodland and coastal landscapes as hiking trails. One of these paths leads to Træskohage Fyr. There are additional forest paths and a shelter site around the lighthouse. Træskohage Fyr was built by Vejle Port in 1904 and is considered a landmark of the area around Stouby and Hotel Vejlefjord. The path to the tower has been renovated, so wheelchair users can also reach it. The lighthouse also has access to the interior.

Beach, Bathing Pier and Nature Experiences

Stouby Beach has a small beach and an elegant bathing pier that is open to everyone. The bathing water is considered to be of excellent quality. For families who want to alternate between an active morning and a more peaceful time by the water, this combination of coastal path, beach and bathing pier is a practical part of planning the day, without requiring a specific route to be chosen.

The wider range of experiences around Stouby also includes opportunities on the water. At Rosenvold Strand Camping, SUP boards and sit-on-top kayaks can be rented; sit-on-top kayaks are also available there for two to three people. Rosenvold Harbour offers walks in the forest and opportunities for sea bathing. Tables and benches invite visitors to eat outdoors.

Church, Festivals and Local History

Stouby Church was built around 1130 as a Romanesque church made of travertine. Its furnishings include, among other things, a baptismal font probably dating from the 12th century, Gothic altar candlesticks from around 1500, a pulpit from 1640 and an altarpiece from 1731. Access depends on the presence of the cemetery gardeners; opening is therefore not guaranteed. Plan your visit accordingly if historic church art is one of your travel interests.

Local life also includes an annual summer festival with activities for the entire town and the traditional Stoubyløb, which attracts both locals and visitors. Kjørmesgildet takes place on 2 February at Multihuset in Stouby. For travel to the area, bus route 205 connects Vejle, Stouby and Juelsminde. In addition, Flextrafik offers flexible door-to-door transport in Stouby.
