Rodskov Havkajak is based at the beach by Rosenholm Bådelaug, between Gammel Løgten Beach and Ugelbølle Beach. In spring and autumn, sea-kayaking courses for beginners and experienced paddlers are offered there. Along the coast by Gammel Løgten Beach, it is also possible to fish as far as Vosnæs Pynt. Grevelund offers another landscape experience. The area is protected along Kalø Vig, and its hills extend from Kalø Vig towards Skødstrup and Løgten. In the protected landscape, a circular route follows existing field and asphalt roads and can be completed in about an hour.

Church, Iron Age and the history of the landing place

The cultural history of the area includes Skødstrup Church, which dates from 1180. Its architecture is Romanesque; the tower and porch date from the Late Middle Ages. On the chancel side, there is a bench with a view over Kaløvig Bay. Nearby, the Jernalderstien trail also leads through the history of Iron Age society in Skødstrup as an experience route with information boards. It conveys how people lived and worked there around 2,000 years ago.

Gammel Løgten’s past is closely connected with the former transport of goods. The village was a historic landing place for small vessels transporting goods. The former shipping point continued to operate with large warehouses and trade until the 20th century. From the bridge at the historic shipping point, timber and other goods were still shipped for several years after its heyday. The name Løgten is associated with a burning tar barrel set up as a navigation mark for small boats. The history also includes an inn known as Gammel Løgten, which belonged to Vosnæs Avlsgård and later became a forester’s residence.
