Jaromer: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A distinctive feature of Jaroměř is located at the ski slope: the ski division of TJ Hraničář Malonty operates a ski lift there.

Landscape and location

Jaroměř is located on the access road from Kaplice, 2 km before Malonty. North of Jaroměř, an avenue of trees runs along road II/158 in the direction of Kaplice. West of Jaroměř, a preserved traditional field pattern with balks and copses has been maintained.

Velký Hodonický rybník is protected to preserve a natural eutrophic body of water with vegetation of the Magnopotamion or Hydrocharition type (3150), as well as a population of the highly endangered white water lily.

History and culture

House no. 26 in Jaroměř is a preserved farmstead typical of the local settlement structure, situated in an isolated elevated location on the western edge of the settlement. Historically, Jaroměř belonged to the settlements assigned to the rycht of the municipality of Malonty.

The historical forms of the name have also been recorded: the first recorded form of Jaroměř, “Jermir”, dates from 1361. Historical forms include “Jarmin” and “Jarmirn”; “Jarmen”, “Garomir” and “Yarmyrow” have also been recorded. Records from 1529 and 1530 contain the forms “Jarmier” and “Jaromier” for Jaroměř; the spelling “Garomier” is also given.

The wayside cross “Kříž severně od Jaroměře” is located in the cadastral area of “Jaroměř u Malont”. The small monument in Jaroměř consists of five parts arranged one above the other; above them is the remnant of a cross presumably made of concrete. At the junction of the old and new roads to Kaplice in Jaroměř, there is a small stone religious monument.

There is a children's holiday facility in Jaroměř during the summer. According to the municipality's description, the surrounding landscape of Malonty is suitable for hiking and cycling tourism. The municipality of Malonty also describes its surrounding landscape as suitable for mushroom picking, fishing and sporting activities.
