Holubovská Bašta is a preserved traditional South Bohemian folk settlement on the shore of the Dehtář recreational pond. Holubovská Bašta is a group of isolated farmsteads between the Dehtář and Posměšek ponds.
Culture and History
Holubovská Bašta is home to a preserved granary with a gate dating from the 16th century. There is also an 18th-century niche chapel; the year 1816 is displayed on one of the houses.
The Church of St Linhart in Čakov is a cultural monument. It is mentioned as early as 1343. Its high altar features late Gothic carved figures dating from 1520.
By the Water and on the Move
Swimming in a natural setting is possible at Dehtář Pond. On the “Kolem Dehtáře” trail, the route climbs uphill after crossing a stream; from there, it offers a view of the entire Dehtář Pond.
Cycling Routes
The circular cycling route “Jihočeským venkovem za barokem do Holašovic” is 46 kilometres long. It passes Holubovská Bašta and follows the dam of Dehtář Pond. Along the way, it runs over asphalt, gravel and stone paths.
Another cycling route, “Do Holašovic za selským barokem z Hluboké”, also passes Holubovská Bašta.
Geographical Location
The second part of Holubovská Bašta can be reached via a turnoff near Záboří.
