Dolní Újezd lies at the foot of the Oderské vrchy in the valley of the Moravian Gate.

Nature and Trails

The forests of the Oderské vrchy on the outskirts of Dolní Újezd are only partially accessible, as they belong to the Libavá Military Training Area. Cycle route No. 6058 passes through the village and connects to the Amber Trail. Several marked hiking trails also run through Dolní Újezd.

Activities

The freely accessible Dolní Újezd sports complex has a traffic playground and a children's area with a sandbox. A multi-purpose court can be rented at the complex on a one-off basis or with a season pass; it is suitable for tennis, volleyball, football tennis, small-sided football, floorball and basketball.

Culture and Local Life

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Gall in Dolní Újezd was built between 1846 and 1849 on the site of an earlier small church dating from 1775. Next to Farm No. 17 stands a memorial to those who fell in the First World War.

A chapel dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk had stood on the later village square since around 1824. In 1905, a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows was built on the village square.

A Hubertus Mass is regularly held in Dolní Újezd in November. The raising and felling of the maypole are among the local customs that have been preserved; the felling takes place in early June and is associated with a children's day. The bear-leading ceremony is regularly held in Staměřice.
