Dolni Maxov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dolní Maxov offers an unusual combination of winter sports and glass culture: the winter sports facilities include the Lesana cross-country skiing area. The reconstructed Maxov glassworks Huť Marie 1904 is offered as a special experience.

Culture and History

The Huť Marie 1904 – Café Bar is located at Dolní Maxov 113, 468 44. The forest chapel, called Lesní kaple in Czech, is being restored on the border between Dolní Maxov and Karlov.

The settlement of Dolní Maxov was founded in 1700. Later, a chapel and the first glassworks were built in Dolní Maxov and Karlov. The glassworks in Josefův Důl–Dolní Maxov is still standing, but is falling into disrepair.

Every year, the „Josefodolské divadelní jaro“ festival featuring rural theatre ensembles takes place in the municipality of Josefův Důl.

Nature and Educational Trails

In the nearby area, the Jedlový důl educational trail leads through the local flora and fauna and to rock formations and waterfalls, with nine stops along the way.

The short version of the Gustav Leutelt educational trail is 5.4 km long and has five stops with information boards. The final stop is located at the local primary school in Dolní Maxov.
