Chýsky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chýsky, a district of the town of Chyše, combines a distinctive ecclesiastical ensemble with a Way of the Cross and the special brewery experience in the area of the town of Chyše.

Culture

The cemetery church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Annunciation of the Virgin Mary) stands in Chýšky on the eastern edge of the town of Chyše, on the gentle Špičák (Spitzberk) hill. The building has three naves and two prismatic towers crowned with small onion domes.

History

The church served as the family crypt of the Michna z Vacínova family. Members of the Lažanský family are also buried in its crypt. The cemetery by the church is surrounded by niche chapels; its most valuable gravestones have been restored. One of the church towers houses two historic bells dating from 1520 and 1572.

Townscape

In Chýšky, a Way of the Cross leads from the settlement to the church, passing small stone chapels. It consists of nine stone chapels; at its center stands the Baroque niche chapel of Saint Anne, dating from 1784.

Local character

In the area of the town of Chyše, Chyše Chateau Brewery produces natural, unpasteurized beer. With advance registration, visitors can book a brewery tour with a beer tasting directly from the lagering tanks.
