Vidonice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The defining landmark of Vidonice is the Church of St. John the Baptist. It is a protected cultural monument, stands on a slope above the village, and is designed as an oriented, single-nave building with an oval-ended chancel. The tower is crowned by an onion dome with a lantern. Mass is celebrated in the filial church only for pilgrimages and the church fair. The historic village setting also includes the mill in Vidonice, house number 33, which also had a sawmill.

Nature

The protected Kalské údolí natural monument also includes the cadastral area of Vidonice. In Kalské údolí, the Bystřice River winds between trees and meadows. Camping is not permitted there in meadows or near the water.

Geographical Setting

Vidonice lies at an elevation of 460 m in a shallow depression on the southern slope of a long, partly wooded ridge. A stream rises at the foot of the ridge, flows through Vidonice, and takes the name Bystřice after the confluence. Between Vidonice and U Borovičky stands the memorial lime tree “Rašínská lípa”, about 100 m to the right of a right-angled left-hand bend in the direction of the industrial zone.
