Otrovanec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The well-preserved Chapel of Saint Helena has a fully restored high altar from the mid-18th century, probably dating from 1769. It is considered one of the best-preserved Baroque altars in the Podravina region. In addition, a building from the Military Frontier, the old school, has been preserved in the settlement. It is one of only two surviving buildings of this type in the municipality of Pitomača.

The altar of Saint Helena depicts the saint in royal clothing with a cloak and a crown. She holds a cross in her right hand and a royal sceptre in her left.

The Baroque altar of Saint Helena is considered the chapel’s greatest artistic and cultural treasure.

Wines from nearby vineyards and Bilogora wineries are also offered. The dining room houses a collection of restored old objects from rural households.

Tradition and leisure

The 17th folklore gathering (“Susreti folklora”) took place in Otrovanec. It was organised by the KUD “Marijan Pavleković Pajo” from Otrovanec; the event brought together numerous cultural associations and people interested in traditional culture.

The “Zlatni klas” equestrian club in Otrovanec offers horse riding.
