Culture and History
In the center of Oklaj, the complex of buildings with the Bandalović Tower is considered an important part of the rural atmosphere and a resource for tourism development. An Ottoman watchtower was also built in Oklaj; it is referred to in 16th-century documents as the “Bandalović Tower.”
Oklaj was located at a crossroads between Castrum Burnum, Promona, and Scardona. Most of the finds from the historical period in question were discovered in Oklaj and Puljani.
