Trbounje: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Culture and history
Trbounje is home to the Crkvina site, an early Christian architectural complex in the hamlet of Čupići. It was built on the edge of what was presumably a late antique rural villa. The remains include a church, a baptistery, a catechumenium, a cistern, a narthex and a diaconicon. The construction phases date to the late 4th or early 5th century and the 6th century.
In the wider regional surroundings of Trbounje are Burnum, Fort Saint John, Barone Fortress and Fort Saint Michael.
Landscape
The area surrounding Trbounje is home to Velika Promina, Mala Promina, Skradinski buk and the Slapovi Krke.
Cuisine
Trbounje is associated with the production of pršut and panceta, as well as a meat-drying facility. Drniški pršut is a regional speciality associated with the Drniš area. Its particular quality is attributed to the area's microclimate and strong Bora winds. In 2012, the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture certified Drniški pršut as a product with protected geographical origin.
