Culture

The Fajeri are the 13 stone pillars of a wooden viaduct built in 1732 on the Karolina Road. They are located on the original route of the Karolina Road between Brestova Draga and Slavica, which is now a forest road. The Fajeri can be reached from both Slavica and Brestova Draga. The Karolina Road was built in the first half of the 18th century as Croatia’s first road connection between the Pannonian and Adriatic regions and is 105.6 kilometres long. Between Belo Selo and Brestova Draga, it reaches its highest point at 970 metres.

Burni bitoraj – Vrh Bitoraj, Mrkovac, Zvonik and Debeli Vrh are located near Brestova Draga. The Prenka ski area in Brestova Draga is part of the Mrkopalj ski centre system.

Routes

The E7 MTB stage runs from Fužine via Lokve, Brestova Draga, Rudine and Mrkopalj to Delnice. It has a total elevation gain of 650 metres, with its highest point at 950 metres and its lowest at 710 metres.

The Sunger–Brestova Draga–Bitoraj circular route is a 20.1-kilometre hiking route that passes the Bitorajske Bijele stijene and Bitoraj.

Route 727, “Following the Traces of Old Historic Roads”, runs from Lokve via Brestova Draga and Slavica to the cowboy village of Roswell and then back to Lokve.
