The local museum in the municipality of Jelenje contains more than 500 exhibits. On display are old household objects, tools and traditional costumes. There is also a living room and a kitchen depicting the interior of a house in Grobinština from the 19th century.

Culture and Crafts
The Church of St Michael in Jelenje was built from 1812 to 1814; the final work was completed in 1821. The parish church has five bells, including one dating from 1604.
The smithy in Jelenje has been preserved in its original form with traditional blacksmithing equipment. There, blacksmith Damir Marčelja demonstrates historical blacksmithing for visitors.
The defence system of Claustra Alpium Iuliarum is also represented by the remains of a line of walls and five strategically placed towers.
Nature and Trails
The Hahlić mountain hut lies at just under 1,100 metres above sea level on the southern slope of Obruč. From Podkilavac in the municipality of Jelenje, hikers can reach the hut in the Grobničke Alpe at around 1,100 metres; along the way, views open up towards Kvarner Bay. The hut also offers views of the Bay of Rijeka.
The Rječina Gorge is protected by law. A hiking trail follows the river and offers the opportunity to experience the local flora and fauna.
For cyclists, there is the Jelenjski-vrh cycling trail, a difficult 13.5-kilometre circular route with 309 metres of elevation gain.
Traditions and Remembrance
On the first weekend after the Feast of the Epiphany, the Grobnički dondolaši make their traditional bell procession through almost all settlements of Grobinština in Jelenje and Čavle.
At the Spomenik Podhumskim Žrtvama monument in Soboli, 91 shields commemorate 91 villagers who were killed in July 1942.
Regional Cuisine
At Gašparov Mill, visitors can buy organic flour and see old tools. The mill still grinds maize and wheat in the traditional way.
At the end of June, the Polenta and Cheese Festival takes place, featuring a large communal polenta combined with Grobnik cheese.
