Trsce: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the centre of Tršće begins the educational trail “Stopama tršćanskih rudara”. It follows former iron ore mining sites and above-ground mining facilities connected to the former Čabar ironworks. The trail is 6.5 kilometres long and features eight informative educational stations as well as a viewpoint. Access to the mine workings is prohibited.

Nature

The “Staza predatora” botanical educational trail starts behind the primary school in Tršće. Along the route are life-size models of a wolf, a lynx, a bear, a stag, a roe deer, a fox, a wild boar and a capercaillie. The “Staza predatora” circular trail is 1.7 kilometres long, marked with signs and equipped with benches for resting. The botanical section presents the flora of the Čabar and Gorski Kotar regions.

Activities

Tršće is included in the second section of the “Goranski planinarski put”. The entire circular hiking trail is approximately 280 kilometres long. Tršće is also home to Gorski-Lazi Adventure Park, featuring an approximately 300-metre-long treetop obstacle course, 13 platforms, seven bridges and three zip lines. The park is currently temporarily closed due to renovation work.

The Rudnik ski area comprises two ski runs and a lift. From there, the view extends towards Tršće and over part of Slovenia. The Rudnik tobogganing area is listed as having a conveyor belt, toboggan rental and catering facilities.

Landscape

The “748 Down the Kupa” highway route leads from Tršće downhill along scenic winding roads towards Smrečje and Mali Lug.

History and culture

The Church of Saint Andrew in Tršće dates from 1860 and was restored in 1996. It stands beside the Delnice–Gerovo–Prezid–Vrhnika road.
