Čabar: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

In Čabar, there are Zrinski Castle and the parish church of Saint Anthony of Padua with its Stations of the Cross. Both are classified as protected cultural heritage. The local speech variety known as “Čabarski govor” is also recognized in Croatia as protected cultural heritage.

Those who choose Čabar for its culture and nature may be planning to rent a holiday apartment.

Nature

The Čabranka rises from steep rocks near Veliki Obrh, around a 15-minute walk from the center of Čabar. Along its course, there are waterfalls and rapids; the river has been recognized as a protected area since 1961.

The source area of the Čabranka can be reached via an asphalt road followed by a short marked forest trail. Sport fishing is possible there. Kayaking is designated as an activity on the Čabranka. Above the source stands the Bridge of Love.

Hiking and Trails

Tropetarska Stijena is a short, challenging circular hiking trail in the mountains. The easiest access is on the Parg–Čabar road, near a sign bearing the name of the trail. The route leads through lush vegetation and varied terrain. Near the upper end, there is a shelter with a table, benches, and an information board.

From Tropetarska Stijena, panoramic views extend across the surrounding settlements and the center of Čabar to Risnjak and the hills of neighboring Slovenia.
