Near Vilanija, in the hamlet of Klija northwest of the village, a rectangular chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas has been preserved within a rural estate. It is located at a previously unexplored archaeological site with prehistoric, ancient, and medieval layers. The Chapel of St. Nicholas near Klija contains a carved, polychrome altarpiece from the 17th century featuring figures of Saint Nicholas, Saint Peregrinus, and Saint Mark. Local tradition associates the church's origins with Umag's subordination to Venice in 1269.
