A brass band tradition in Babići dates back more than a century. The Istrian brass band gathering began here on 3 October 1976; its 50th edition was held in the settlement again.
Culture
Babići-Vecchiutti is considered an agricultural settlement with two historic brick kilns. The local singing tradition includes the San Lorenzo-Babici mixed choir, founded in 1997, which performs Istrian, Croatian and Italian popular songs. The men's vocal group I Cantadori also preserves old songs associated with rural life in Istria.
Settlement in the Roman period has been documented for the San Lorenzo-Babici area.
Local Traditions
Bobićada is a local festival in Babići, organised by the Lovrečica-Babići local committee as a traditional event. The festival combines a celebration centred around beans with live music by the band ITD. Bobićada also includes the preparation of maneštra with Istrian bobići.
Landscape
The Mamiloni area of Babići contains karst sinkholes. Golubinka Cave is the largest identified example. A path towards Zacchigni is described as a route that passes a watering place for wild animals.
Paths and Walks
Old paths around Babići are considered connections to neighbouring villages. In 2020 and 2021, walks took place on paths around Babići towards Canal, Semari and Cuscieti; there were also walks from Babići towards Canal in both years.
Cycling Routes
One cycling tour starts in Novigrad and passes through Gornji Babići and Škrinjari. Another cycling route passes through Babići before continuing to Lovrečica.
