Režanci: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Režanci is located along an existing cycling route and is home to the AXA cycling club. Trail 690, “Renesansa na dva kotača”, is suitable for mountain bikes, e-bikes and trekking bikes. At its 20th kilometre, the trail reaches a pond in Režanci.

Cycling

The AXA Cup in Režanci is part of a larger mountain biking competition held at several locations in Istria. The event is aimed at both amateurs and licensed riders.

A municipal tourism project proposes themed rest areas along the Reški put route, based on local legends and stories.

Culture and history

West of Režanci stands the Church of Saint German, which dates back to the 12th century and is mentioned in an episcopal visitation book from 1600. It serves as the chapel church for Režanci and Štokovci. Its floor plan is rectangular; a square apse incorporated into the building transitions via squinches into a semi-dome.

Another historical connection of the village is the fate of Ruža Petrović: on 22 July 1944, she was taken from Režanci to the fascist garrison in Savičenta after helping partisans. She was blinded by torture.

The Reški put was an old main road connecting Režanci with Svetvinčenat. Historically, it was also used to transport the deceased to the cemetery in Svetvinčenat. The Fešta sv. Germana in Režanci is considered a traditional folk and religious festival that welcomes visitors and preserves the local customs and cultural heritage of the village.
