Rogotin: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rogotin lies mostly on a triangular-shaped island. The place was an island for a long time, before the lower Neretva was regulated in 1889. Traditionally, Rogotin is said to have been mentioned for the first time in 1716.

A boat trip associated with Rogotin travelled along an approximately four-kilometre-long canal connecting Lake Vlaška with the Adriatic and introduced visitors to the protected Parila reserve.

On a hill above Rogotin stands the Rogotin wind organ, which is powered exclusively by the wind. From Rogotin, a path approximately 900 metres long leads to the summit of Trovro. A 7.5-metre-high cross stands on its highest peak.

The Epic Rides Ploče/Neretva cycling route passes through Rogotin. During the Epic Rides event, support vehicles are available along the route. Vaterpolski klub Rogotin has been active for more than four decades and has a swimming school. The rowers from Rogotin are considered the most highly decorated team at the Maraton lađa; they have six gold medals.

Culture

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Rogotin was built in 1870 and has three marble altars. The town’s cultural associations include KUD Marko Markota, Pučki povači Rogotin, KUD Šunjuše and Ženska klapa Providenca.

The Crkveni pučki pjevači Rogotin preserve a characteristic Rogotin melody across generations. A Marian music concert also took place in the Church of the Holy Trinity, organised by KUD Marko Markota together with the parish.
