Županja combines historic sites, museums and events with excursion destinations and the river landscape.

Culture
The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Županja was built in 1800. The Galerija Veliki Kraj is located in the centre of Županja in a traditional Šokac house.
The Gradski muzej Županja comprises two larger and two smaller buildings, connected by a museum park and a new administrative building. The first football match on Croatian soil was held in Županja in 1880.
The Zavičajni muzej Stjepana Grubera is housed in a border watchtower dating from the early 19th century. The border watchtower is considered the only surviving example of military border architecture in Croatia.
Events
Šokačko sijelo is the oldest and largest traditional culture event in the Županja area. The programme includes folklore performances, theatre productions, exhibitions, evenings of folklore and poetry, equestrian parades with festively decorated horse-drawn carriages, as well as a large carnival procession through the city streets.
The event “Kruh naš svagdašnji – žetva i vršidba u prošlosti” takes place in Županja on the first Saturday in July. Visitors can take part in harvesting activities and ride in horse-drawn carts.
“Županjsko ljeto” aims to promote the production of local products of indigenous origin. The event is also intended to combine concerts and folklore programmes with gastronomic offerings from local hospitality businesses.
The Savski sajam was held on the town promenade in Županja.
Nature
Poloji is an excursion destination in Županja. The Županjski virovi are located on the Sava or on waterways connected to the Spačva Forest.
Geography
The A3 motorway runs alongside Županja. A road bridge near Županja also serves as an international border crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
