Jazavica: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapel of Saint Roch, dating from the 17th century, stands in Jazavica-Roždanik. It was destroyed during the Croatian War of Independence and rebuilt by local residents. The associated Rokovo festival included football tournaments and tug-of-war competitions.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Roch is located on the border between Jazavica and Roždanik; the new Church of Saint Roch was blessed on October 2. Jazavica was formerly the seat of a parish.

KUD Javor has a dance and singing section as well as a tamburica section. The association was founded to preserve the cultural heritage of its region and pass it on to younger generations.

Events

The sixth Folklore Gatherings of KUD Javor took place at Hrvatski dom in Jazavica. The July program also included two dates for the International Scout Camp Dupin in Jazavica for children and young people who are Scouts or would like to become Scouts.

The traditional procession Pokladno jahanje in Župa Rajić passes through Jazavica. It is part of a route from Borovac toward Rajić, Roždanik, Jazavica, Voćarica, and Paklenica.

The program of KUD Javor Jazavica-Voćarica-Roždanik included the second West Slavonian Kulenijada.

Geographical Setting

The 77.8-kilometer-long Posavina cycling route passes through settlements in Posavina and continues to Novska.

Slatino Brdo, Kričko Brdo, and Kučerina are located in the immediate vicinity of Jazavica.

The surrounding area is home to the Jasenovac Memorial Site and Kovačevo Brdo. Sveti Duh is located in the wider regional area.
