Hiking between Seona and Krndija
Several trails offer different destinations and starting points. The Našice Geological Trail begins at the edge of Seona, near the source of the Našice water supply. There is a covered rest area with tables and benches there. The Seona–Bedemgrad hiking trail also leads from Seona to the ruins of the medieval fortified town of Bedemgrad. If you are looking for a specific distance, the “Stari Vodovod Seona–Križanje ispod Bedemgrada” route is listed as 5.2 km, with an estimated walking time of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Another trail leads from Donja Motičina, past the Tivanovo mountain lodge, towards Petrov vrh in the Krndija mountain range. In Gornja Motičina, the Staklana–Dobra Voda trail begins in the hamlet of Staklana; it leads to the Dobra voda spring, passes the Jovac quarry and runs mostly along a forest road. Culture and local traditions
The Church of All Saints in Donja Motičina is designated a cultural monument. It was renovated and extended in the 17th century and restored several times since. On the Municipality Day, which falls on the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the cultural and historical event “Motičino moje drago selo” is held in Donja Motičina. The 31st folklore event of the same name took place as part of the Municipality Day and the feast. During a procession for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, after Mass, girls in white dresses scatter flower petals in front of the statue; young women and men in traditional dress carry the statue. These customs and the church offer a glimpse into the religious and cultural-historical character of the place.
