Trnovac is home to the parish church of Saint Nicholas the Bishop, which is listed as protected cultural heritage in Croatia. Construction began in 1879; the church was completed and consecrated in 1881.

Culture
Trnovac is home to chapels that were built as stations of the Way of the Cross leading to the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. In Trnovac, the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows is traditionally celebrated on the following Sunday. The chapel stands on a summit overlooking the Lika Field.
Cycling
The Štirovača cycling route includes Trnovac as part of its route. The Velebit cycling route reaches the village after an 11-kilometre paved section from Gospić. It is classified as challenging.
