The municipality of Kostinbrod regularly hosts the three-day Bulgarian folklore festival “Шопски наниз”. The festival has a competition format and attracts participants from all over the country. History

The Shiyakovo Monastery is located about 1 km from Kostinbrod on Lom Road and is associated with Vasil Levski’s establishment of a secret revolutionary committee in 1871. The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius is the largest church in the municipality of Kostinbrod; its foundation stone was laid in 1905, and it was consecrated in 1907.

The Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Maslovo was built on the site of an older church and is located near a well, a playground, and a recreational area. The Church of Saint Petka in Boyovtsi was built in 1852, fully frescoed by masters from the Debar and Samokov schools, and designated a Group II cultural monument of exceptional artistic value.

Nature

A municipal tourism program designates a cycling route from Sofia via Kostinbrod, Petarch, Opitsvet, Bezden, Boyovtsi, Beledie Han, and Lyulyaka Hut. At Beledie Han near Lyulyaka Hut, a bridge over the Kriva River provides access to picnic and walking areas, a pavilion, a restored playground, and the local biodiversity.

The Bezden Reservoir is located in the Bezden area and is fed by the nearby Bezden karst spring. The Bistritsa Reservoir near Bezden is used for fishing, as well as picnicking and walking by the water. The Maslovo Reservoir is also used for recreation and fishing, attracting both residents and visitors for eating and relaxing.

The Orlovi Skali and Stenite rock formations near Gradets are used for climbing and nature walks. The area around Gradets has eco-trails for hiking and cycling, as well as opportunities to observe wildlife.
