Nature

An ecological trail connects Lipnik Forest Park in Nikolovo with the Minzuhar Hut. A previously impassable section of the Lipnik–Minzuhar ecological trail has been made accessible. The endpoints of the trail can be reached by bus routes 10 and 33, as well as by the Ruse–Nikolovo intercity route.

Controlled one-lane traffic applies on Nikolovo Dam Road. Vehicles with a permissible maximum gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes are prohibited on the section of Nikolovo Dam.

Culture

The National Folklore Festival “Scene under the Lindens” is traditionally held in Lipnik Forest Park in Nikolovo. It lasts two consecutive days in June and features a competition format for dance, music, and authentic folklore groups from northern Bulgaria.

A traditional gathering takes place every year on August 2, Ilinden, in Lipnik Forest Park.

Water and Events

The Dragon Boat Festival at Lipnik near Nikolovo combines sport, culture, and East Asian traditions. At the 2025 Dragon Boat Festival, visitors were able to board dragon boats free of charge after a mandatory briefing.
