Lyubino: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The protected natural landmark Hladilna Cave is located in the Lyubino area, a karst formation at the confluence of the Davidkovska River and the Arda. It remains unusually cold there in all seasons; during the warmer months, the cave serves as a natural refrigerator. A protected natural landmark called Rhodope silivryak is located in the lands of Lyubino in the municipality of Ardino. A small state forestry hut is located in the area of Hladilna Cave, and Hladilna Cave can be reached by car.

Nature

The lands of Lyubino and Latinka extend into the eastern parts of a ridge of the Western Rhodopes that includes the 1,205-metre-high Lochkata peak.

Culture and History

Preserved residential complexes in Lyubino represent the tradition of the Rhodope house. The Ali Riza Bey Mosque in Lyubino is over 200 years old and was officially reopened after restoration. The entrance colonnade, windows and doors of the Lyubino Mosque feature neoclassical details. The staircase, balcony and ceiling of the main prayer room are decorated with detailed wood carvings. The walls of the prayer room feature figurative compositions, floral motifs and Qur'anic calligraphy. Additional buildings that served supporting functions for the mosque lie in ruins.

Parts of a fortress wall, battlements and an entrance have also been preserved.

Geographical Location

Veshkata, Kazal and Chilyaka are located in the vicinity of Lyubino; Elvarnika and Perperek are located in the wider regional surroundings of Lyubino. Between Lyubino and Latinka stands a roadside fountain with a Turkish inscription.
