Mineralni Bani: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Mineralni Bani is characterized by a thermal area with numerous natural hot springs extending over approximately 500 meters. One visitor facility includes small mineral-water pools with benches where visitors can bathe their feet. In Toplika Park, the terrarium features a permanent exhibition of amphibians and reptiles. In Chifte Banya, two large metal showers produce a laser show in the evening.
Culture and History
The Bogoroditsa Step is a preserved attraction from Roman times, carved into natural rock. It is located in the center of Mineralni Bani, five meters from the first mineral spring, and measures two meters in length, one meter in depth, and 0.75 meters in width.
The Sharapani site contains Iron Age monuments carved into the rock, created 2,600 to 2,800 years ago. The rock installations there include two uneven basins with sloping bottoms and a channel. From the site, panoramic views extend toward the slopes of the Eastern Rhodopes, the Trakiya Reservoir, and across the Haskovo Plain.
The Thracian rock sanctuary complex and the late-antique fortress at Hasara can be visited free of charge. A guide is available upon prior request. Access from Angel Voyvoda is via an unpaved road or the Sarnitsa–Pette Chuchura–Angel Voyvoda eco-trail.
Nature and Trails
The Municipality of Mineralni Bani has six eco-trails covering natural and cultural attractions. Along its eco-trails, there are rest areas with benches, pavilions, and spaces for outdoor barbecues; many of these rest areas offer panoramic views toward the Eastern Rhodopes. Upon request, the municipality can organize guided group visits to eco-trails, tourist sites, and attractions, as well as horseback riding, archery, and sport fishing.
The “Mineralni Bani–Aikaas” eco-trail is 7.75 km long. Aikaas lies on the western slope of the Mechkovets Ridge below a natural rock crown; the view extends more than 30 km toward the Rhodopes. The area includes deciduous woodland as well as beech and oak forest. The forests are home to numerous bird species, as well as roe deer, red deer, and wild boar. Aikaas is described as accessible to tourists of all age groups and suitable for family tourism and recreation.
Geographical Setting
An eight-kilometer asphalt road connects Mineralni Bani with Mount Aida, where the Aida tourist hut is located; the hut can also be reached via a marked hiking trail. Regular bus services run to Haskovo, which is 18 kilometers away.
