A Thracian chariot dating from the 2nd century was discovered at Dvete Chuki in the Stambolovo area. Archaeological investigations near Stambolovo uncovered remains of Slavic settlements from the period of the First and Second Bulgarian Empires.
Kovan Kaya is described as a protected Thracian rock sanctuary with several hundred trapezoidal cult niches. An asphalt road passes within 100 metres of Kovan Kaya. Stambolovo’s Christian religious sites include the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
Wine
Stambolovo Winery is located in Stambolovo next to the municipal building. Merlot from the Stambolovo area is described as an internationally recognised example of Bulgarian Merlot.
