The Osipovichi Reservoir was created in 1953 in the lower reaches of the Svisloch River by building a dam, and was established to generate electricity. Its shoreline measures 55.3 kilometers; the slopes are mostly forested. The result is a meeting of a clear history of engineering and an extensive, predominantly forested shoreline. This gives the district’s landscape its own character, with water engineering and nature side by side.
The Svisloch-Berezinsky Republican Landscape Reserve also includes areas in Osipovichskiy Rayon and is described as a potential center for ecotourism in Mogilev Region. Proshcha is located in a picturesque forest near the settlement of Kokhanovka. A report from March 2025 described the road from Kokhanovka to Proshcha as having previously been surfaced with sand and gravel. Check current road conditions before setting out. The Zhornovskaya Relict Oak Forest is also mentioned in Osipovichskiy Rayon as a suitable destination for a nature route. Museum and architectural history
At the Osipovich District History and Local Lore Museum in Osipovichi, the “Daragan Family” exhibition recreates the interior of a noble estate across five halls. The museum also features an art gallery dedicated to Belarusian People’s Artist Vladimir Stelmashonok: one hall displays his works in various techniques. The museum thus brings together a multi-room estate display and a focused gallery featuring a range of techniques.
The wooden Catholic Church of St. Joseph in Kazimirovo was built in 1906 and is a monument to traditional wooden architecture. Osipovichi railway station is also an architectural monument, dating from the early 20th century. The two buildings represent different historical reference points: the church has a known year of construction, while the station is placed within a historical period.
There is a Jewish cemetery in Svisloch; church community life there has been documented since the beginning of the 16th century. A fortification and the remains of a castle complex in Svisloch are also mentioned as places to visit in Osipovichskiy Rayon. Check the condition of the remains on site.
