In Soligorsk, the Republican Hospital for Speleotherapy practices underground speleotherapy in potash mines; its underground speleotherapy complex lies 420 metres below the earth's surface. Renting a holiday apartment in Soligorsk is a separate accommodation request.
Culture
The Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ is considered the largest church in Minsk Region and one of the largest churches in Belarus. It is 60 metres high and has a total area of 3,500 square metres. Its complex includes the Church of St John the Baptist in the crypt and the small Church in Honour of the Nativity of the Mother of God. In the pilgrimage programme of the Pilgrimage Department of the Grodno Eparchy, the cathedral is listed as a destination for 12 to 13 September.
The Soligorsk Local History Museum covers, among other things, local history, ethnography, geology, folk crafts, the history of the Second World War and the development of the city. The interiors are designed like underground mine workings. The hall on the construction of the potash mines and the city displays miners' working tools, photographs and personal belongings of the city's first builders.
The Museum of Labour Glory of Belarus Potash has more than 2,000 exhibits. The exhibition is designed with a representation of potash salt layers and a reconstructed hoisting shaft, uses audiovisual materials and displays fossil eurypterids from the Palaeozoic, dated to between 350 and 360 million years old.
City Life and Activities
The Four Elements Park is a place for meeting, playing and entertainment. It is home to the city's largest fountain: its 740 water jets reach a height of 20 metres, and in the evening the fountain is illuminated by around 80 lanterns.
The Children's Area “Ryaba the Hen”, with the sculptures “Ryaba the Hen” and “Mouse Norushka”, is located in the Love and Fidelity Family Park. On Naberezhnaya Street there is a roller-skating and roller-sports track with a parabolic cross slope; according to the information provided, it meets current international standards.
Sports and mass events are regularly held on the Soligorsk Health Trail. The trail runs through a large forested area on the outskirts of the city and leads to springs with clean drinking water. The Soligorsk ski roller track consists of three training circuits with one-way traffic.
Water and Sport
At the OSVOD rescue station and at the Berёzka Sanatorium, pedal boats for trips on the water and rowing boats can be rented.
The Soligorsk Extreme Park is intended for tricks on BMX bicycles, skateboards and kick scooters and includes nine facilities for various tricks.
