Saslauje: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Museum Reserve includes the Children's Museum of Mythology and the Forest, one of the facilities open to visitors. The Museum of Belarusian Malyovanka displays traditional Belarusian carpets painted with colours.

The ethnographic complex “Mill” and “Forge” is an open-air museum with wooden, musealised buildings dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The original interiors illustrate everyday life in a small town. The complex is located near the railway station in Zaslawye.

The museum and exhibition complex is located on the market square in the historic centre of Zaslawye. The DOT Museum was opened to visitors in 2004. It is the musealised firing position No. 115 of the Minsk fortified area; it was built in 1932 and formed part of the “Stalin Line” defence system.

The Museum of Belarusian Malyovanka opened to visitors in Zaslawye on 18 May 2023.

History

Excavations at the “Val” rampart hillfort uncovered remains of log buildings dating from the 12th to the 17th century. At the end of the 16th century, the rampart hillfort was extensively converted into a bastion castle.

Sacred Buildings

The Cathedral of the Transfiguration is located at 6 Zamkovaya Street in Zaslawye.

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the Farny Church, is an 18th-century building and an example of Vilnius Baroque.

The Calvinist assembly building in Zaslawye is a 16th-century Renaissance building located in the city centre on the grounds of the former castle.
