The Spannagel Cave is also one of the region’s special nature experiences. It is the largest marble cave in the Central Alps. The Spannagelhaus serves as the meeting point for this excursion; from there, you take the gondola to the Tuxer Fernerhaus and then walk for ten minutes to the cave. The entrance to the Nature Ice Palace is a ten-minute walk from the mountain station of Glacier Bus 3.

Farming history in the Tux Valley

In addition to trails and Alpine landscapes, Tux also offers specific historic sites. The Tux Mill dates back to 1839. Its restoration has preserved a piece of farming culture. The Mehlerhaus dates back to the 17th century. Both examples show that the valley’s history is encountered not only in dates, but also in preserved buildings and former working environments.
