Hollabrunn combines nature experiences with wine cellar alleys, city history and special cultural sites. When choosing a holiday apartment or holiday home for your stay, you can plan your trip around whether you want to explore a varied trail with your family, learn about regional history, or combine views with physical activity. Several attractions have their own particular focus: the Forest Adventure Trail is aimed at schoolchildren of different age groups and families, while the Kellerkatzenweg connects the experience of the wine cellar alley with the adjacent natural surroundings.

Circular Trails with Different Experiences

The Hollabrunn Forest Adventure Trail is a circular route approximately 4.4 km long. Interactive and multisensory stations make it a route where schoolchildren of different age groups and families can discover the forest in a variety of ways. The stations give the trail a clear experiential character and provide ideas for a shared outing, without requiring you to devote the entire day exclusively to one attraction.

The 4.15 km-long Kellerkatzenweg offers a different perspective on Hollabrunn. The circular route passes through the Sitzendorf wine cellar alley in Hollabrunn and the adjacent natural surroundings. At 24 stations, it presents the world of the wine cellar alley and its development in an urban setting. The trail is therefore particularly suitable if you want to combine physical activity with insights into an important regional tradition. The wine cellar alley experience also includes four experience stations housed in cellars. Access is provided with a chip card, which you receive at check-in in exchange for a €5 deposit.

Views and Forest around the Koliskowarte

For an outing with a clear focus on the landscape, the Koliskowarte is a good option. It is an observation tower in Hollabrunn's Kirchenwald and can be easily reached via two Hollabrunn hiking trails from the starting point at the Hubertus Monument in about 30 minutes. From the Koliskowarte, the unobstructed panoramic view extends as far as Schneeberg and Ötscher. If you value walks and scenic views when choosing your accommodation, this visit is one of the concrete options you can include in your plans.

Historic Buildings and Collections

Hollabrunn's cultural history can also be explored through individual, clearly distinguishable destinations. The Alte Hofmühle is one of the city's oldest and most interesting buildings and is used as a versatile event venue. Hollabrunn Parish Church was built in the 12th century and contains many Neo-Gothic elements. This allows you to experience different historical layers side by side on a city tour without losing sight of the area's natural attractions.

The Hollabrunn City Museum complements these impressions with a permanent exhibition on the city's political, ecclesiastical, economic, social and cultural development. History becomes particularly tangible in the Habaner Collection: it comprises 33 ceramics from workshops and independent craftsmen of the 17th century and the early 18th century, predominantly from the western Slovak region. In Catti's Cellar, children can also try out three traditional working techniques from wine cellar operations. This gives families a choice between looking, asking questions and trying things out for themselves.

Accommodation and Further Planning

When looking for a holiday apartment in Hollabrunn, you can consider which of these experiences should define your stay. If you plan to visit several trails, you should take the distances of approximately 4.4 km and 4.15 km into account when planning your day. For a culture-oriented stay, the Alte Hofmühle, parish church and city museum offer different ways of exploring the city's history. If you arrive by car, ÖBB lists free parking options at Hollabrunn railway station at Bahnhofplatz 8, Lastenstraße 3 and Anton-Ehrenfriedstraße.
