Teuchl combines impressive mountain views with a remarkable history. Teuchlspitz is a secluded summit in the Kreuzeck Group and is regarded as a panoramic mountain in the Möll Valley. The Teuchlspitz hiking route leads via the Egger’s Au Alm to the natural monument known as the “Materle Larch”. The ancient larch stands at an altitude of 1,770 m and provides the route with a distinctive landmark. The history of Teuchl also includes silver mining. It is recorded in the oldest mining court register of the Obervellach mining court district, dating from 1480. Teuchl can be reached via the B106 Mölltal federal road. At the level of the “Penker Wirt”, the route branches off; from there, an approximately 7 km-long paved mountain road continues to Teuchl. Visitors are asked to park considerately and make economical use of the available space.

A Special Annual Event

Every year, on the third Saturday in July, a summit mass is held at Teuchlspitz, together with a request for a blessing for good weather.
